FX’s American Horror Story
American Horror Story has a rabid and enthusiastic fan base that likes to seek out hidden meanings and clues in anything released by the brand. Our social campaign had to match their enthusiasm, and we were happy to engage with them with hints and Easter eggs. Some of my favorite assets to work on were the Do Not Disturb cards customized to fit each episode. We would get the episodes a couple days in advance, and I would take screenshots of costumes, set designs and even monsters to reference when reconstructing scenes upon which to place the text. Fans would then share the cards as they were released minutes before each episode premiered.
